2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the 1968 global protests.To the Chest honours those who protest, honours the power of will and the desire to speak out. 50 years later, we must continue to stand up against repression, against police brutality, and against injustice. While the social, political, and historical backgrounds of Baltimore and Caracas are vastly different, Ale Cegarra and Devin Allen’s documentary photography share common themes in their representation of violence, repression, and the yearning for change.
